Exploring European Values, Inclusion and Project Thinking

During the second and third days of the Building Bridges: Strengthening International Capacity, Developing Key Competences, and Promoting Inclusion Through Erasmus+ mobility in Komotini, participants continued the learning programme with activities focused on European values, inclusion, accessibility and the foundations of project development.

Day 2: EU Values, Inclusion and Accessibility

The second day introduced participants to the core values of the European Union, including democracy, equality, solidarity, human dignity, freedom and respect for human rights.

Through interactive exercises, case studies and group discussion, participants explored how these values are reflected in everyday life and why equal participation is essential in education and community development.

A key part of the day was a visit to a local centre supporting people with mobility difficulties. This gave participants the opportunity to observe accessibility challenges in practice and reflect on the barriers that people with disabilities may face in public spaces and community life.

The visit encouraged participants to connect the project’s inclusion objectives with real situations and later inspired some of the group’s project ideas concerning improved accessibility for wheelchair users.

Day 3: Erasmus+ Priorities and Project-Based Thinking

The third day focused on the wider European dimension of the project and the role of Erasmus+ in supporting education, inclusion, digital transformation, sustainability and active participation.

Participants learned more about European priorities and discussed how Erasmus+ projects can respond to the needs of learners, organisations and local communities.

The programme also introduced the basic principles of project-based thinking. Participants explored how a social or community challenge can be transformed into a structured project idea by identifying:

  • the problem or need;
  • the target group;
  • the objectives;
  • the proposed activities;
  • the expected results and impact.

The day concluded with an open discussion in which participants shared questions, experiences and initial ideas that would be developed further during the following stages of the mobility.

These two days strengthened participants’ understanding of European values and inclusion while preparing them for the practical project-development activities ahead.

The mobility is implemented under project 2025-1-BG01-KA122-ADU-000323675 and is funded by the European Union.
